Volta a Portugal à Vela 2026
Vela Solidária took part in the 8th and final leg of the 2026 Tour of Portugal by Sail, a historic event that returned to the national sailing calendar 23 years after its last edition.
In the final leg, held in Portimão, Corsário do Arade, skippered by Luís Brito, had both a female crew and an inclusive crew on board, demonstrating that in sailing, determination, cooperation and team spirit are what truly make the difference.
After a very close race, Corsário do Arade finished 4th overall in elapsed time in the final leg, competing side by side with some of Portugal’s best cruising teams.
More than a sporting result, this participation reinforces Vela Solidária’s mission: to promote inclusion through sailing, creating opportunities for people of different ages and abilities to enjoy unique experiences and compete on equal terms.
